Many have a view of beaches, fresh air, lots of money and plenty of time when they think about working for themselves. It seems only those who actually do work for themselves see the truth. While self employment and owning one's own business can offer many of these benefits it does not come without a price. It comes through hard work and consistent effective efforts. There is much that must be done on the front end of any business if you wish to enjoy the freedoms that you expect this business to offer you. The first thing you must accept is that it will not be an easy thing to run your own business and it will not come without work.
Once you accept that work is still needed you need to then get serious about what that work is. What does it take to set up your own business? Just saying that you accept the need for work is not enough. Not you must find out what work is needed. You must set a schedule for yourself and often that schedule should include time for doing the actual work and also for study to learn what needs to be done and how to do it. Once you set this schedule then you can start to fill the blocks of time with the activities that will bring you the freedom you so desire. In this way you will prepare yourself to become one of the successful business owners rather than one of the statistics of failure.
Beware that you will get overwhelmed sooner or later as you start this new venture of finding notes. You will want to complain and cast blame for the lack of success. You are working for yourself remember? Recommit to do what is needed and then schedule it and do it. Marketing any business will require different work ethics that you have when you work for somebody else. Preparing yourself for that will help make it easier to do. |
